Pawnbroker Nicholas Fulton was recognized at the Annual Awards Luncheon during Pawn Expo 2019 in Las Vegas.

Southlake, TX – The National Pawnbrokers Association (NPA) is pleased to announce that Nicholas Fulton of USA Pawn in Ridgeland, MS was selected to receive the 2019 NPA Young Professional of the Year Award. Mr. Fulton accepted the award during the association’s Annual Awards Ceremony at Pawn Expo 2019 in Las Vegas on July 9 at The Mirage Las Vegas.

At the age of five, Nicholas was the poster child for the NPA Future Business Leaders Scholarship Fund. At that time, he knew he would be joining the family business one day and has worked towards that goal his entire life. He has been involved with the NPA and the Mississippi Pawnbrokers Association for several years, and he recently organized continuing education courses at The Dixie Educational Conference and Trade Show and the Mississippi Pawnbrokers Association convention. He has visited pawnshops around the country and gained tremendous insight and best practices on the pawn business model.

Nicholas is a technology savvy pawnbroker. He has deployed new marketing strategies for USA Pawn via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram which target the increasingly important millennial generation. Additionally, he has launched new pawn software which updated the USA Pawn operations and direct communication to its customers. Nicholas oversees the precious metals and gemstone division at USA Pawn and has taken the lead on several internal processes around scrap and diamond melee sales to help ensure the most efficient and revenue optimizing approach.

Nicholas participates in government relations activities to support the pawn industry on a local and state level. He recently met with Mississippi’s State Treasurer, Lynn Fitch, who is running for the office of MS State Attorney General. Nicholas also contributes to fundraising events which support organizations such as “Folds of Honor,” an organization which provides scholarships to spouses of fallen or disabled armed service members, and “Hope Home for Girls” with his local sheriff’s department.

The NPA Young Professional of the Year Award recognizes young professionals who have demonstrated exceptional success in their businesses and local communities and have made a significant contribution to the pawn industry.
