National Pawnbrokers Association Announces New Executive Director, Kristen Williams


The National Pawnbrokers Association Board of Directors announces a management reorganization

Southlake, TX – The National Pawnbrokers Association (NPA), the pawn industry’s only national association, announces the appointment of a new Executive Director, Kristen Williams. “We are excited to welcome Kristen Williams to the NPA and the pawn industry. The NPA Board of Directors has been charged with the task of discovering a new direction for the organization in extraordinary times. Ms. Williams is an experienced professional who joins us with an energetic approach and a fresh perspective for our association,” said Kerry Rainey, pawnbroker and NPA President. Kristen Williams joined the NPA team on Monday, April 6, 2020.

Former Executive Director Dana Meinecke will remain at the NPA for a transitional period in an advisory role to ensure a smooth and successful handover. Mrs. Meinecke has worked for the NPA for 16 years, first as Director of Meetings and Events, and in 2006, took on the lead role as Executive Director. Rainey added, “On behalf of the entire Board of Directors and membership, I want to thank Dana for her dedicated service to the NPA during a critical time of growth and transition for the pawn industry.”

Kristen Williams, based in Victor, NY, was formerly the Executive Director of Independent Equipment Dealers Association (IEDA). She will manage the association’s office location and staff located in Southlake, TX, remotely. Mr. Rainey added, “I would also like to express the Board’s appreciation to Kristen and thank her for accepting this important role. I am confident Kristen is going to be an asset to the NPA and to the industry overall. We have an immense amount of confidence in her abilities to keep our industry strong as we continue our work to unite pawnbrokers worldwide.”


The NPA works to provide independent pawnbrokers nationwide with resources and tools to strengthen the pawn industry. NPA members are committed to operating their businesses in such a manner as to enhance and promote the positive and professional image of all pawnbrokers. Members believe in establishing positive and long-lasting relationships with local, state, and federal government officials. The NPA is the industry’s only national association and is located in Southlake, TX.
